About Us

Our Story

Weatherdon was founded by Rob Weatherdon, who together with wife Judy, purchased a biscuit distribution business in the Sydney suburb of Artarmon in the early 1970s. This business, which bears his name, was incorporated in June 1975.

Rob was at the forefront of trading with the burgeoning Asian economies in the 1970s. Frequently travelling throughout the region, he was soon importing dried fruit from the Philippines and exporting clay to Indonesia. However, it was Taiwan that formed the cornerstone of the business. A Taipei office was set up in the early 1980s which provided the springboard for what would become the three main arms of the business: hotel supplies, stationery and resellers.

In 1995 Rob's son Robert took over the business. He saw more opportunities in China and focused on importing from there. This helped Weatherdon become the specialist supplier that we are today.

Weatherdon Today

Weatherdon is still a family-owned business today, and is run from our St Leonards head office in Sydney, Australia. We are one of the leading suppliers of products to the hotel and accommodation industry, stationery and hospitality resellers.

With stock held in our Botany warehouse and along with our local supply partners, we can offer our customers competitive pricing and outstanding customer service with prompt delivery times.

In 2018 Weatherdon also expanded to New Zealand.
